In Sun Showers Nengi and Collins share a modest Lagos apartment, their affection strained by poverty. Nengi, an aspiring interior designer, lands a client in Dora, a wealthy entrepreneur. Collins chases a music career but his ambitions stall. He pressures Nengi to divert their rent money toward a feature with a fading artist. She refuses and threatens to leave but relents when the song impresses her. Dora advances Nengi's fee and loans the rent, also arranging a corporate job for Collins. Collins takes the position but resents dependence on his girlfriend's friend. He soon begins an affair with Dora and Nengi leans on Kunle, Dora's associate, for support. Collins' single flops and the landlord threatens eviction. Nengi urges him to pursue steady employment. Collins excels at his new job but deepens his betrayal with Dora. Nengi walks in on them, triggering a vicious confrontation where she reveals she once slept with another man to pay Collins' hospital bills. Collins cruelly attacks Nengi's appearance and character, choosing Dora. He moves in with her, only for Dora's estranged military husband to return, ejecting Collins and prompting Dora to fire him. Desperate, Collins begs Nengi for a second chance and she rejects him, declaring his absence a blessing. Nengi, bolstered by Kunle's support, prepares for a key job interview. Nengi lands the job. Kunle, who has quietly loved her, hands her an envelope and departs. She reads his written confession: 'I think I've fallen in love with you.' Rushing to the door, she finds him already gone. She smiles, clutching the letter, embracing a future no longer defined by Collins' chaos.
