Jaiye, posing as a cab driver, arrives in a low-income neighborhood conducting a market survey for his family's oil company. He meets Nkiru, a female mechanic running a small workshop, and quickly befriends locals like Otunba. Nkiru is trapped supporting Efe, a jobless and abusive partner. Jaiye defends her from Efe and a local thug, Kamoru, and learns about her care for neighborhood children and her dream to work for an automobile company. After a severe beating, Nkiru moves in with Jaiye, who reveals he is an artist and Uber driver. She shares her past: she studied mechanical engineering, and Efe was her only support after her uncle died. Their bond deepens. Jaiye's father and fiancée Oyi arrive to bring him back for their arranged wedding, exposing his true identity as Jeremy Jaiyeola Fernandez, heir to Fern Oil and Gas—the company planning the gas plant. Nkiru feels betrayed, believing Jaiye was sent to destroy her community. He insists he fell in love and plans to stop the project, but she rejects him. Returning home, Jaiye faces pressure from his father to proceed with the plant and wedding. He submits a revised proposal to the board, arguing for an alternative location to avoid harming the community, and convinces Oyi to call off the marriage, as she loves another man. Despite his father's anger, Chief Balogun and investors approve the new plan. Jaiye's mother encourages him to follow his heart. Jaiye finds Nkiru working as a junior engineer at an automobile company. He apologizes, reveals he called off the wedding and started a scholarship for neighborhood children. Nkiru admits she still loves him, and they reconcile. Jaiye takes her to meet his family; his mother warmly welcomes her. The couple walks into the house together, signaling a hopeful future.
