Road To Salvation

Grace and Mark are married, but she gives her days to intense prayer, fasting, and church work. Mark, frustrated by weeks of sexual rejection, tells her she is neglecting him for her faith. Grace announces a week-long consecration and insists on celibacy as a spiritual offering. Mark pleads for intimacy, and she calls that pursuit her heavenly race. After the fast, Grace tries to compromise by allowing only the missionary position, which she deems holy. Mark remains dissatisfied, so he brings a young, flashy woman named Ijoma into their home and introduces her as his second wife. Grace is devastated when Mark moves Ijoma into the guest room and showers her with affection. Ijoma flaunts her new place in the house. Grace seeks consolation from her church friend Agatha, who advises her to rediscover her attractiveness and stop hiding behind modesty. She also confides in church members, but her desperate prayers seem unanswered as Mark's bond with Ijoma grows stronger. Following Agatha's advice, Grace abandons her conservative headwraps and dowdy clothes for stylish outfits and confident behavior. She reconnects with Mark, apologizes for neglecting him, and shows genuine interest in their marriage. Moved by her change, Mark admits the truth: Ijoma was never his second wife but a friend and colleague who agreed to act in a setup. He explains that he orchestrated the fake affair to shock Grace into realizing how her extreme religiosity was destroying their relationship and to make her jealous enough to return to the woman he married. Grace is stunned but relieved, and the couple reconciles. Mark asks for her forgiveness, and she promises to balance her faith with her love for him. Grace and Mark rediscover their joy together, with room for both spirituality and physical intimacy. Ijoma gracefully steps aside and wishes them well.
