Risking It All

In Risking It All, Zara Karim, a focused law student, encounters KD — known on campus as King KK — when he intervenes during a harassment incident. Despite her initial reluctance, Kaden persists, walking her to her hostel and later visiting her room with plastic flowers to declare his interest. Their dynamic is complicated by KD's reputation as a troublemaker who drinks and smokes, which Zara condemns. Her roommate Sarah dates him despite warnings from friends about his poor academic standing and campus notoriety. KD's life spirals when police pull him over and find substances in his car. During a violent confrontation he shoots an officer in what he claims is self-defence, leading to his arrest and detention without trial. Zara visits KD in prison and promises to find a way to free him, but her powerful father forbids her involvement and threatens disownment, eventually forcing her to return home. Years pass, and Zara becomes a barrister at her father's firm, engaged to Tony, a man her father approves of. KD is released after a year, rehabilitated, and seeks Zara out by leaving his contact information. Meanwhile Sarah discovers she is pregnant with KD's child from a past encounter. Tony cheats on Zara with Susan, a public figure. Zara's father accelerates wedding plans for December, dismissing Zara's objections and her professional exams. Kaden — now working as an artist — is commissioned for the wedding, leading to a confrontation with Sarah where he learns of the pregnancy. On the wedding day at a beach ceremony, KD objects as the officiant calls for objections, declaring Zara is his wife and pregnant with his child. Chaos erupts when Tony's infidelity is exposed by Susan and Zara's friend Fayor, humiliating Zara's father. Zara and Kaden have a raw emotional exchange where she admits she loves him and has been lying to herself.
