Monetized Marriage

The film opens with a woman in a brown dress paying twenty thousand naira to free a girl accused of stealing bread then a title card reads Monetized Marriage. A flashback shows young Asake selling palm oil and meeting Ajadi who charms her into meeting under a mango tree. Zara the CEO of Capital Matrix Suiss Bank meets Segun a real estate businessman at a bar. Unknown to Zara Segun and his partner Tolani are con artists who have researched Zara's wealth and plan to manipulate her into a large unsecured loan. Meanwhile Zara confides in her grandmother Asake about her previous boyfriend James who blocked her and relocated abroad and Asake urges her to give love another chance. Segun begins courting Zara in earnest taking her to a private cinema where he declares his intention to marry her and asks about their genotype compatibility. As Segun and Tolani secure a luxury apartment through an agent named Wasiu to impress Zara Tolani grows increasingly jealous of Segun's closeness to Zara. Segun spends a week with Zara and is invited to meet her grandmother but he forbids Tolani from attending. Conflict builds when Tolani confronts Segun in an office and discovers he accidentally called her Zara. She reveals her true identity accuses him of falling for the mark and threatens to end their partnership and future relocation plans. Feeling betrayed Tolani now identifying herself as Victoria contacts the police and has Segun using the alias Jason arrested at his mother's house on fraud charges totaling over twenty five million naira. Tolani also ensures the arrest of Janet an accomplice posing as Segun's sister. At the police station the arresting officer is revealed to be Ezekiel Segun's younger brother and the son of Ajadi. In a dramatic turn a woman claiming to be Segun and Ezekiel's mother long believed dead appears. She explains she survived a past accident and postpartum depression and offers to repay all the stolen money.
