EARLY LIFE

David Patrick was born on 15 July in Agbor, Delta State, and is linked to the royal family of Uboh in Ika South. He was raised primarily in Lagos, where he attended schools including Victoria Island Primary School, Kuramo College, and Lillyfields Comprehensive School in Ejigbo. While in secondary school around 2001, he began training in karate, martial arts, and the Nigerian Man O’ War program. These skills later formed the foundation of his stunt career. He and some colleagues were featured in early Nollywood productions on a pro-bono basis during this period.

CAREER

Patrick is widely regarded as a first-generation / pioneering Nollywood stuntman and coordinator. He has worked for over two decades (active since the early 2000s), performing and coordinating high-risk action sequences including falls from multi-storey buildings and bridges (notably Falomo and Ikoyi bridges), car and bike crashes, fight choreography, and fire/inferno stunts. He has served as a stunt double (including for footballer Alex Iwobi) and has contributed to numerous cinema and streaming productions. In a 2022 Premium Times interview, he discussed the undervaluation of stunt performers in Nollywood compared to Hollywood, emphasizing the need for proper budgeting and recognition of the stunt department. He operates through companies/services providing stunt coordination, fight choreography, tactical props (including uniforms and prop weapons), safety rigs, and related production support. He has been associated with claims of extensive project credits (hundreds of films and skits) and recognition as an early specialist elevating action standards in Nollywood, including work for platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

PERSONAL LIFE

Patrick maintains a low public profile regarding relationships and focuses primarily on his professional work and business ventures in the film industry.

Patrick is a multifaceted professional who also works as a gym trainer/equipment dealer and general consultant for film productions. He has advocated for greater professionalization and proper valuation of the stunt department in Nigerian filmmaking. His work has helped raise the visibility of practical action sequences in both traditional Nollywood cinema and streaming content.
