Pray For Divine

A widowed father struggles to care for his daughter Divine as she battles leukemia, and although she goes into remission after two years of treatment, the financial burden forces him to sell their home and cars. Desperate for funds, he borrows from his friend Alberto in the film "PRAY FOR DIVINE", using the 500,000 Naira to start anew and send Divine to a new school where she befriends Rachel. He hides his own chest pain and focuses on Divine, but her health suddenly deteriorates—she collapses, coughs up blood, and is hospitalized. A nurse named Naomi begins offering free home care, allowing the father to work as a driver; the family bonds with Naomi, and when his friend transfers 7 million Naira to Albert's account, hope returns. That hope shatters when Divine suffers a relapse of leukemia. Overwhelmed by grief and exhaustion, the father breaks down in the street, crying out in anguish and questioning why his family endures such suffering. Flashbacks of happier times contrast with his anguish, and he collapses from emotional strain, supported by concerned bystanders. One year later, Divine is in long-term remission, her father's electrical business is thriving, and Naomi has secured a home-care job in Australia, planning to help the family relocate. Divine pursues her education, and the film ends with a message of resilience, asking the audience to pray for them.
