Biography
EARLY LIFE
Francis Duru was born on July 27, 1969, in Cameroon to Nigerian parents from Imo State. He completed primary and secondary education in Cameroon before moving to Nigeria to study Theatre Arts at the University of Port Harcourt, earning a B.Sc. degree in 1996.
CAREER
Duru debuted in Nollywood in 1989 with Missing Mark. He gained prominence in 1995 playing Ahanna in Rattlesnake. In 2010, he served as interim president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria and was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
PERSONAL LIFE
Duru married Adokiye in 2003; they have four children. In August 2024, their second son Ifeanyi passed away at age 15.
