In a mediation session, Ibiere Akintola demands financial compensation for lost career opportunities and sole custody of their daughter Lola, while Gbenga insists on joint custody and dismisses her ideas. The mediator orders a three-month co-parenting trial, forcing them to share parenting while living apart. Gbenga struggles with daily care, forgetting Lola’s lactose intolerance and missing school events, as Ibiere, with friend Alero, develops a business proposal she refuses to let him see. Lola secretly submits one of Ibiere’s old proposals to Gbenga under the guise of a school project, hoping he will finally value her mother’s work. Gbenga’s brother confronts him about his fear of becoming like their domineering mother, prompting self-reflection. When Ibiere receives a birthday gift she assumes is manipulation, Lola admits she bought it, leading to Gbenga’s sincere apology. At the final mediation, Gbenga agrees to all of Ibiere’s financial demands, including a 75 million naira investment with no strings attached. He reveals his childhood resentment of his mother’s ambition and his fear of repeating his parents’ mistakes, which made him suppress Ibiere’s career. He begs for a second chance, promising she will lead this time. After a moment of hesitation, Ibiere agrees to a one-year trial, with the divorce terms as a fallback if it fails. The film ends with Gbenga and Ibiere renewing their vows in a private ceremony, pledging equal partnership and mutual support through good and bad times. They step into a new chapter, bound by a fragile but determined commitment to grow together.
