King Ferdinand summons Magnus and other elders to the palace, publicly accusing them of trying to manipulate him. He singles out Magnus, reminding him that he was not married to his ex-wife and warning him to stay out of palace affairs. Later, the king visits Magnus at his home, offering him 10 million Naira in US dollars to buy his silence about matters concerning the throne. Magnus refuses, calling the money filthy and stating that his silence is not for sale. Enraged, the king threatens to make Magnus's existence impossible, vowing to come for him morning, noon, and night, and declares war on him. Elsewhere, Ndukazi approaches his wealthy uncle Chief Omenboji for financial help to pay his children's school fees. The chief agrees but insists that Ndukazi's wife, Ego, must collect the money in person. Despite her deep distrust—the chief previously sabotaged her marriage—Ego reluctantly goes to his house. The chief offers her wine and money, but his true intentions emerge when he demands she come to his bedroom to 'sign a document' in exchange for the cash. Ego refuses, calling him an evil man and his money filthy. The chief grows aggressive, snatches the money from her, and throws it into the air. He then physically assaults her, pushing her to the ground as she screams and fights him off. Ego manages to escape and flees the house, leaving the chief alone to pick up the scattered money. Holding a single banknote, he curses her, saying she will die in poverty. Meanwhile, the king's unresolved threats against Magnus continue to loom over the kingdom.
