Mystery Man

Nancy Odedele is at home preparing a special evening while her husband, James, drives back to their estate on a video call. She hears a commotion and sees the car roof, then rushes out to find James dying from a blood injury. Detective Imaphidon treats the death as an assassination and interviews the grieving widow. Nancy cannot unlock James's phone, so she tries passwords from their anniversary and birthday, then calls a technician named John to bypass the lock. At the morgue she meets Aduke Ibrahim Osho, a woman who also claims to be the dead man's wife. They argue fiercely, each showing valid marriage documents, one naming James and the other naming Ibrahim, and the funeral director calls the police. Detective Imaphidon begins sorting out which woman is the legitimate widow. Nancy and Aduke agree to meet after they realize they may be connected, and they find that James's family members have disconnected phones. Their search leads them to a third woman, who shows photographs from an engagement in Paris, and to a phone call from a woman claiming to be the wife of a man named Malik. Detective Imaphidon summons all the women together and tells them they are all married to the same man, who used the identities James, Ibrahim, and Malik and worked as a civil engineer, marine biologist, and software analyst. He orders them to stop investigating and says the police will handle the matter internally. The women refuse to back down and demand the return of their husband's body. A police official replies that the body is state property and must remain under investigation, and his answer implies that the dead man may have been involved in secret government work. He advises the women to treat the affair as a bad relationship and move on, and the body is not returned to any of them.
