In Aba, Elozonam's mother was raped in an uncompleted building, and Gertrude helped clean her wounds and get her to safety. This shared traumatic past dissolves the mother-in-law's hatred completely. She breaks down, apologizes for her cruelty, and admits she was trapped in past pain for a long time. Peace is restored, and the mother-in-law warmly accepts Chiamaka as her daughter-in-law. The family shares a harmonious meal where both mothers cook and laugh together. Elozonam and Chiamaka reaffirm their love and commitment to each other. The couple and both mothers happily prepare to go out together, united at last.
