Married For A Week

Cheta and Rita's marriage fractures when Rita discovers lipstick on Cheta's shirt and immediately suspects his secretary Gina. Despite Cheta's calm denials, Rita's suspicion deepens through conversations with her friend Becky, who fuels the accusation. Meanwhile, Cheta confides in his friend Kelvin, who cynically suggests Rita might be projecting her own infidelity. The tension peaks when Cheta's boss Jude assigns him and Gina a business trip together, prompting Rita to leave a scathing note and abandon the house. Rita follows Becky's advice to make Cheta jealous and escalates by putting pepper in his underwear. Cheta discovers the prank and, humiliated, resolves to retaliate by actually pursuing Gina. He travels with Gina for the work trip, but a hotel booking error forces them to share a room. Simultaneously, Rita seeks comfort with Jude and begins an affair. Cheta and Gina unexpectedly arrive at Jude's home and find Rita there, exposing her betrayal and shattering Cheta's assumption that he was the guilty party. Rita and Becky arrive at Cheta's house to beg for forgiveness. In a heated confrontation, Becky admits she manufactured the cheating allegations to manipulate Rita, while Rita confesses her affair with Jude. Cheta coldly informs Rita that although he forgives her, he wants a divorce. Rita collapses in desperate pleas, but Cheta remains resolute, stating that her infidelity has ended the marriage. Alone and devastated, Cheta sits at a bar deep into the night, downing shot after shot of tequila. He wrestles with conflicting emotions, unable to distinguish between relief and grief. The bartender leaves the bottle with him as he stares into the empty glass, murmuring about peace and quiet. The screen fades to black as the credits roll.
