Love In Lagos

Rejected for unclear reasons, Zara pleads with wealthy Damini for a job, and he hires her as his personal assistant. Her cousin Melda, controlling and cruel, demands money and threatens to send Zara back to the village. Damini grows interested, taking Zara to lunch, asking personal questions, and showering her with gifts—even offering to take her to Sweden to meet his mother. Melda poisons Zara's mind, convincing her Damini only wants sex, so Zara rejects his advances and avoids him. Meanwhile, Damini's ex-lover Lola tries to rekindle their relationship, but he firmly rejects her, declaring his love for Zara. Melda, herself crushing on Damini, hires a woman named Lolade to seduce him, planning to bring Zara to witness the betrayal. The trap springs, but Damini reveals he and Lolade were aware of Melda's scheme all along, having recorded her conversation. Melda's manipulation is exposed; Zara is devastated by her cousin's betrayal. Damini explains his initial attraction came from Zara's resemblance to his late fiancée Cassie, but his feelings have grown genuine. Zara reconciles with Damini, apologizing for her mistrust. He forgives her, and she moves out of Melda's house, symbolically starting anew. Zara and Damini affirm their love. Zara's mother arrives to bless their relationship, and the film closes on the couple together as credits roll.
