Love From A Distance

Susan cries tears of joy when her long-distance fiancé Andre orchestrates a virtual proposal over video, complete with rose petals and candles. Her mother doubts Andre will ever come home, but Susan insists he is the one. Rose, Susan's friend, met someone on a dating site and playfully raids Susan's wardrobe. She lectures Susan about chasing men away for someone who will not do the right thing, and the warning plants real doubt. Meanwhile, Dave lives with his girlfriend Kate, who berates him for sleeping until eight while she works. Kate refuses to sleep with Dave because he has not paid her bride price, and the pressure between them keeps building. In Love From A Distance, Andre sends Susan a brand new black sedan, and she drops her suspicions the moment she sits in the driver's seat. Dave approaches a security guard to ask about a vacancy, and Susan interviews him for a driver position. Kate forbids Dave from working as a lady's personal driver, and after a physical struggle over the keys, Dave drives Susan to work anyway. Later, Kate falls ill with a fever and vomiting, and a panicked Dave brings her food and medicine. He keeps watch from the floor beside her bed because she insists. Bored one restless night, Susan calls Dave for a ride to a club, and the two share an intimate moment on a couch. She slips out before anyone can see her leave. Andre returns to Nigeria to marry Susan, and she welcomes him into her home. Susan confides in her friend that she slept with Dave and can no longer stand Andre's touch, yet she plans to marry him for the lifestyle. During a romantic dinner, Andre pushes for a court wedding in two weeks. Susan discovers Andre is married to a white woman with two kids, and she throws his suitcase out in heartbreak. Dave returns home to find Kate accusing him of staying out late, and he reveals he knows she slept at another man's house.
