In Life Can Do Whatever He Wants, Seven and Itam are a married couple celebrating their anniversary with a romantic dinner, but their evening falls apart when Seven's credit card is declined and Itam pays the bill despite his protests. At home their argument exposes Seven's deep insecurity about being the provider, and his resentment lingers into the coming days. Itam's mother, Ini, arrives at their apartment with Fred, a media executive, pretending to want dinner but really aiming to set Itam up with him. When Itam insists she is married, Ini retaliates by repeating Itam's private confession: Seven is insecure about her success, and Itam was afraid to have his child. The confrontation shatters the family, and the couple has to face the damage those words caused. Later, Seven collapses while away to pitch his business idea and is hospitalized, where doctors first call it exhaustion. A second episode brings him back, and this time Itam and Greg are told by Doctor Fumi that Seven has advanced lung cancer. Seven is not present for the news, and when he goes home, Itam keeps the full truth from him to spare him pain. At home, the couple starts repairing their closeness. Itam confesses she has been using contraceptives, and Seven says he wants a child. She takes time off work to be with him and plans a staycation. During a hospital visit, Seven learns from his doctor that his lungs are failing and he likely has only months left, so Itam tells him she is pregnant to give him hope. Months later, Seven's condition worsens until he needs oxygen support and his cancer no longer responds to treatment. At one clear moment, he speaks of a sudden burst of energy and dreams about the honeymoon he and Itam never had. In bed, he tells Itam the cancer feels like a green monster eating away the time he has left, and they share a small joke about the Hulk to ease their grief. She wakes to find him unresponsive, screams for him to wake.
