He is held in Kalakiri, a brutal, isolated island prison fortress engineered to break the human spirit. Within this "Kalakiri Republic," power has secrets and betrayal is the only form of survival. However, instead of silencing the movement, Manga's secret detention serves as a catalyst. Inside the prison, Manga forms alliances with ordinary citizens, medical students, and other inmates who refuse to remain silent. Outside, his desperate wife relentlessly wages war against the government machine.
