Storyline

Just Like Rainbow charts the unexpected reunion of a fractured family. Homeless and desperate, Tega convinces a zoo security guard to let him work as a cleaner, where he crosses paths with Jerry, a young boy whose recurring nightmares hint at a traumatic past. Jerry's adoptive mother, Scarlet, initially recoils at the sight of the scruffy stranger bonding with her son, but she softens and decides to rehabilitate Tega, giving him a job and a place to stay. As Tega settles into their home, washing cars and playing with Jerry, a chance encounter with an old friend, Kizito, jolts his memory—he is Lucas, a man who lost his wife and his identity in a devastating car crash five years earlier. Fragments of the past return: Lucas recalls the crash that killed his wife and separated him from his infant son, Kelvin. The realization crashes down that Jerry is Kelvin, the child Scarlet adopted after the accident. Confronted, Scarlet admits she recognized Lucas from the adoption records but feared losing the boy she raised as her own. Tega, now fully Lucas, grapples with the revelation yet finds his anger melting into love for the woman who saved his child. Rather than reclaiming Jerry, he pledges himself to Scarlet, embracing the family they have already built. The decision to marry seals their new beginning. Jerry, overjoyed to call Lucas his father, stands proudly as the little groom at the wedding. Friends and family gather to witness Scarlet and Lucas exchange vows, their union a quiet victory over grief and secrecy. The reception spills into celebration, with Jerry dancing between his two parents, the past finally laid to rest as the music plays on.
