Emeka lives in Lagos and has shared four years with Lizzy. He travels to his village for a project and, after a night of drinking, impregnates a young woman named Anika. In His Heart shows Anika’s mother Adunni discovering the pregnancy and forcing Emeka to take responsibility. Emeka brings Anika and their newborn son to the Lagos home where Lizzy already lives, and the arrival sparks immediate tension. Lizzy feels betrayed after years of faithfulness, and Emeka insists the pregnancy was a drunken mistake and claims he only wants to fulfill his paternal duty. The household fractures as mistrust and competing claims take hold. Later Malik, a doctor and Emeka’s friend, forges a DNA test at Emeka’s request to confirm paternity. Lizzy discovers the forged results and confronts Malik, who reveals the child actually belongs to another man named Maker and that he manipulated the test to push Lizzy toward marriage. Emeka faces a lawsuit from Malik for two hundred million naira and loses his assets as the case proceeds. Joe appears in the final scenes and proposes to a woman with genuine affection and respect.
