Imperfect Match

In Imperfect Match, Bukky's stable life crumbles when the investment company holding her life's savings turns out to be fraudulent, and she is laid off because of budget cuts. She looks for comfort in her boyfriend, but she finds him with her close friend Angela. After a night of heavy drinking, she wakes in Ifeanyi's apartment with no memory of how she got there. Ifeanyi is a proud, predatory womanizer. With no work or money, Bukky boards with her longtime friend Miriam and Miriam's husband Deji. Deji pressures her repeatedly. She tells Miriam the truth, and Miriam evicts her, certain Bukky was seducing Deji. Penniless, Bukky returns to Ifeanyi, who reluctantly gives her a place yet treats her as an inconvenience. She discovers she is pregnant. Ifeanyi laughs at her, calls it a pregnancy scam, and says the child belongs to a former lover. Hurt, Bukky takes a job in a distant place and disappears without telling anyone. Months later, she reaches out to Ifeanyi's loyal friend Kingsley and reveals she has given birth to Ifeanyi's son. Kingsley says he missed her, and he explains that Ifeanyi was once betrayed: his fiancée was pregnant with her ex's child days before the wedding, and that left him bitter and scared of commitment. Bukky appears before Ifeanyi with the baby. Overwhelmed with regret and love, he apologizes, insists he has changed, and begs her to take him back. She agrees cautiously because he proves his commitment, and she moves in with him and their son. Miriam comes to Bukky in tears. Deji has gotten the neighbor pregnant, and she sees his pattern of deception. Bukky forgives Miriam, and they embrace. The film closes with Ifeanyi, Bukky, and their baby together.
