Ideal Match

In Ideal Match, Ebuka's mother has handpicked a young woman named Anuli, the daughter of Mazi Okene of Izuno, to be his future wife, and she eagerly prepares for his arrival. When Ebuka arrives, he surprises everyone by introducing Priscilla as his fiancee. His mother is outraged, rejects Priscilla, and insists that Anuli is the suitable match. Ebuka and Priscilla leave the family house with the tension unresolved. Over the next five years, the couple suffers six miscarriages, and Ebuka's mother blames Priscilla's Imo state origins and threatens to throw her out. Priscilla's mother moves in to protect her daughter, and Ebuka's mother stays too, so the two women constantly argue and physically fight. Ebuka and Priscilla arrange a therapy session, but the mothers turn it into a shouting match, and Ebuka finally throws both mothers out of the house. Ebuka's mother returns with a young girl she presents as his new wife and a pastor who claims Ebuka is under a spell. His half-brother Ikenna repeatedly asks for money and is turned away. His mother pressures Ebuka to father a child or risk losing his inheritance to Ikenna. The maid Ronke confesses that Ikenna and his girlfriend Sofie gave her a substance to put in Priscilla's food to cause the miscarriages and in Ebuka's food to harm him. Ebuka confronts Ikenna with the bottle labeled ONCE, and Sofie had convinced Ikenna to accept the plan because, since Ebuka has no child, Ikenna would inherit everything if Ebuka died. Police are called, and both Ikenna and Sofie are arrested for attempted murder. With the real culprits caught, the family gathers and reconciles. Ebuka points out that evil is not limited to any one state, and he asks his mother to apologize to Priscilla for the years of mistreatment. Reluctantly, Ebuka's mother apologizes and welcomes Priscilla into the family. The two mothers playfully argue as they make peace, and the couple finally finds peace in their home.
