I Met A Girl

In I Met a Girl, wealthy university student Dixon throws a lavish birthday party at his father's house, complete with gambling and dancing. His father, Engineer John Olushola, returns unexpectedly and furiously kicks everyone out, disowning Dixon after learning he lost a Rolex watch in a card game. Later, Dixon gambles away his father's new SUV in another bet, leading to his father stripping him of all possessions and expelling him from the family home. Homeless and penniless, Dixon's friends refuse to help him, and he is forced to seek shelter from Kimberly, a serious and studious classmate he had previously insulted. Despite their contentious history, she reluctantly agrees to let him stay on her floor. Living with Kimberly is a harsh adjustment. She imposes strict rules: no alcohol, cleanliness, and responsibility. They clash repeatedly, with Kimberly lecturing him about his lack of ambition and direction. Meanwhile, at school, they are paired together for a chemistry practical, much to Kimberly's dismay. Dixon's mother secretly meets him, urging him to reconcile with his father for his birthday. Inspired by Kimberly's tough love and her own story of struggling to achieve her goals, Dixon begins to change, studying hard and taking their project seriously. Dixon's transformation culminates when he and Kimberly attend his father's birthday dinner. Dixon kneels and sincerely apologizes for his past behavior, promising to change. His father forgives him and welcomes him back into the family. Kimberly, whom Dixon introduces as his partner, impresses Engineer Olushola with her passion for aeronautical engineering, revealing that she is starstruck to meet him, as he is a legendary figure in the field. The family accepts Kimberly, and Dixon chooses to leave his car behind, not wanting distractions as he continues to discover himself. Their relationship deepens, he passes his exams with no carryovers, and they profess their love for each other.
