Gift, a scholarship student at Tree of Knowledge School, struggles to balance her education with selling akara to support her blind mother and younger siblings, often arriving late and facing her teacher's frustration. Wealthy classmates Sonia and Sonia's friend Sharon bully her for her poverty, but Sonia's brother Ray becomes curious about Gift's life, following her home and offering friendship and a new phone. When Sharon sees Gift and Ray together, she retaliates by destroying Gift's akara stand and later plants drugs in Ray's bag, reporting him to his mother, which leads to Ray being grounded and punished. Meanwhile, Sonia begins to feel guilty about her role in the bullying and secretly reconciles with Gift, planning to expose Sharon's lies. At Ray's home, with their mother present, Sonia and Ray confront Sharon, who admits to framing Ray and bullying Gift. Enraged, Ray's mother calls Sharon's mother, who punishes Sharon by confiscating her devices, grounding her, and canceling her summer vacation; the maid Betty also reveals Sharon's abusive behavior, deepening the mother's disappointment. Gift's mother undergoes successful eye surgery funded by Ray's mother, who also provides the family with a free apartment and offers Gift a job in her company. Gift and Ray reconcile and are seen studying together at school, sharing a positive friendship as the story ends.
