Elizabeth, known as Liz, lived in an estate but stayed trapped under Ralph, her wealthy boss. In His Obsession, Ralph once settled a scandal when Liz took money from a guest's forgotten bag to pay for her mother's operation. He forced her to sign a contract that made her his personal assistant and girlfriend, and for over two years he paid for her apartment and expected obedience. When Oscar, a new neighbor, spoke to Liz, Ralph questioned her about him. Oscar kept borrowing Maggi and oil, and Liz shut the door in his face. She told Naomi she no longer carried the weight. Naomi said Oscar truly loved her and did not hold her coldness against her. Oscar later cooked for Liz, and she apologized for treating him harshly. Oscar accepted, confessed he had always liked her, and asked her to go out with him. Liz smiled and said she was already there.
