Love Looks Good On You

Darling performs a romance for cameras as Remi empties their shared account and steals from her purse. The engagement is a condition of the Emory Events wedding package and neither intends to keep the vows. Remi's gambling debts mount and his temper sharpens until he corners Darling and threatens to kill her. Adam, Darling's cousin, moves her to a safe house the same week Uzor loses his apartment over a stalled shipment. Uzor stays with Adam and they meet in the kitchen where he admits he was blacklisted from oil for blowing the whistle on a contract. He tells her a failed restaurant partnership took his savings and his friends vanished when the money did. Darling listens and tells him he still knows how to cook. Uzor takes a catering order for twenty plates at Ariz Bank and the kitchen work gives him a routine. Remi's mother arrives at the safe house and warns Darling that the family plans to use her for endorsements. Olivia, Uzor's girlfriend, is caught cheating and the relationship ends. Remi finds the safe house and slams Darling against a wall and hurls insults about her worth. A neighbor records the assault and the video spreads online. Darling goes live and names Remi's gambling debts and embezzlement and the scripted engagement. Remi's mother hires bloggers to rewrite the story but witnesses confirm Darling's account. Emory Events cancels the wedding contract. Remi's followers flood Uzor's pages with one star reviews and call him a homewrecking sous chef. Darling posts a video and takes responsibility and clears Uzor's name. Benedict, an old friend of Uzor, agrees to fund his restaurant and names it Darling. The night before launch they celebrate Uzor's birthday and Darling admits she loves him and he says he loves her back. The restaurant opens to a full dining room and Uzor's business turns a profit. Darling walks from the Emory contract and Remi's family threats. They share a kiss in the doorway of their new restaurant.
