In Her Love Language, Adisa's daily struggle in a Lagos slum involves borrowing transport money from Kojo, her patient shopkeeper friend, as she faces constant ridicule from neighbors like Papa Emeka. When news arrives that crude oil has been found on her late father's land, a government payment of 300 million naira transforms her life overnight, moving her into luxury and easing her debts. During a drive, she accidentally strikes a man, causing severe head trauma and amnesia, and rather than leaving him, she takes him home and names him Damian. As she tends to his recovery, a romance blossoms, but her growing trust is mirrored by a new threat when she hires a maid, Grace, whose curiosity about Adisa's wealth soon turns to scheming with her brother. Kojo, secretly in love with Adisa, watches her relationship with Damian with increasing jealousy, and his warnings fall on deaf ears when Adisa dismisses him as just a brother after his heartfelt confession. On the day of her new shop's opening, Damian feigns illness, leaving Adisa to go alone while Grace and her brother hack into her cryptocurrency wallet, stealing 110 million naira. Rushing back to find the theft, Adisa turns to Kojo, who helps coordinate with the police, leading to the arrest of Grace and her brother at the airport, where 92 million naira is recovered—though 10 million had already been spent on their escape plans. Adisa recalls a nightmare she had dismissed, realizing her intuition had warned her of betrayal. Grateful for Kojo's steadfast support, Adisa agrees to dinner, where he proposes, but she again refuses, unable to see him as more than a friend. Devastated, Kojo asks her to pay the bill, but Adisa walks out on him and he insults her.
