Hearts Over Time

Yimika is still shaken after her split with Emore, who once insisted she was pregnant and later admitted it was a false alarm. In Hearts Over Time, Emore corners her in her car to apologize and suggest a reunion, but she refuses to hear him out and makes him leave. At her office, Kaydo, a younger colleague and her brother Seye's friend, sends fruit baskets and notes and keeps checking on her. Yimika asks him to keep their interactions professional because she is mindful of workplace gossip. Kaydo, just back from France, keeps pursuing her. When he criticises her work at a meeting, she calls him petty because she once called his behavior inappropriate. He later apologizes and asks to talk outside the office. Kaydo visits her at home and confesses he has always liked her and wants to settle down. Yimika likes him too but hesitates over the age difference, her protective brother, and a female colleague named Frances who seems interested in Kaydo. They agree to move slowly, and Yimika is uneasy about the secrecy. When Seye learns about the romance, he is hurt, and his disapproval makes Yimika end the relationship. Kaydo accuses her of treating him like a placeholder, and Yimika says the age gap and family obligations left no future. Seye sees his sister's unhappiness, regrets his controlling behavior, urges Yimika to make things right, and apologizes to Kaydo. Yimika and Kaydo meet again and speak honestly about missing each other. Kaydo says he no longer wants to be a secret, and Yimika promises to stop running from her feelings. They admit they want to be together for real, and in front of Seye and close friends, the two exchange warm words, embrace, and kiss.
