Good Friends

In Good Friends, Ify works as a travel agent and handles difficult clients and phone calls from her mother. Her friend Jess films makeup tutorials at home. Their friend Simi has a boyfriend named Shola, but Shola has become distant since his music career began to take off. Simi confides in Jess that Shola no longer checks on her, even though she helped him early on. At the office, Ify tries to reach a man named Josiah, but another woman tells her Josiah left his phone with her. A woman named Taifi confronts the woman holding the phone and accuses her of overstepping. Later, Taifi shouts at a man outside a restaurant. Shola reappears and apologizes. He gives Simi a necklace and asks her for a hundred thousand naira to buy outfits for an important show. Simi agrees to give him the money. At work, Ify's boss Mr Bassey scolds her for letting her colleague Chris cover her duties. He warns her that she could be sent home permanently if she does not improve. In the friends' shared home, a devout houseguest named Ada keeps fasting and praying, and the others wonder how long she will stay. The friends gather and press Jess about Ruke, who had asked her to be his girlfriend. She admits she declined because he was leaving town, and her friends are exasperated. The women take a drive together and argue about relationships and work. One of them threatens to quit her job. At a restaurant, Ify challenges a waitress over a bill she considers too high for a small meal, and Taifi's earlier accusations still linger. Despite their quarrels, the friends stand by each other, and Simi stays committed to Shola despite her misgivings. Ify faces the possibility of losing her job. Jess wrestles with her feelings for Ruke, and the three friends keep supporting one another through their separate challenges.
