Lady Zu operates a brothel in Lagos where she collects rent from a group of young women and selects them for clients alongside her business partner Lifestyle. Benita, driven by her father's mounting medical bills, pressures her older sister Osareme to let her join the trade. Osareme, who works as a sex worker herself, refuses and urges Benita to stay in school. Benita disregards the warning and travels to Lagos, moving into Lady Zu's compound where she begins working and soon quarrels with the other women over money and clients. In Girls Like Us, Osareme remains behind, tormented by guilt and fear for her sister's safety. Benita grows confident after a client pays her in dollars and mocks her peers. Lifestyle then presents Benita with a high-paying party invitation arranged through Alhaji and hosted by Chief Simon, and Benita accepts despite Osareme's desperate pleas to quit. Osareme discovers the arrangement and confronts Lifestyle, offering to take Benita's place, but he dismisses her concerns. Conflict inside the compound erupts into accusations of theft and betrayal, sparking violent fights that prompt Lady Zu to threaten the women with a shrine visit. On the night of the party, Benita departs with Lifestyle, unaware of the trap awaiting her. At the location, Benita realizes the event is not a party and manages a frantic phone call to Osareme. She reveals that the girls have been taken into a deadly situation before Lifestyle snatches the phone and cuts off communication. Osareme and the other women panic and debate whether to involve the police or trust Lifestyle's assurances. In a dark room, multiple women weep on the floor under a harsh male voice demanding silence. Benita's fate is sealed off-screen, her terrified confession the last evidence of her life. Osareme receives confirmation that Benita is dead and breaks the news to their mother, who collapses in grief and blames Osareme for pushing Benita toward the city.
