Along Came Love

Omar hawks groundnuts by the roadside, her only income while living with Aunt Mabel, and when the university strike is called off, she aches to return, but Mabel flatly refuses to pay. With Benjamin, her friend, Omar discovers a letter from her mother, revealing her father's identity. In *Along Came Love*, she meets photographer Stefan, who offers her a modeling job paying twenty thousand naira per session—a sum that could change her life. Her aunt, however, forces her to hand over every naira, and Benjamin warns that Mabel may be hiding something. Ignoring him, Omar travels to find her biological father, Edmond Moses, only for him to angrily reject her, telling her she should never have come. Returning home, Mabel throws her out for the visit, and Stefan takes her in, offering kindness and a place to stay. When Omar returns to Mabel’s house to beg for forgiveness, she overhears a confession that shatters her: Mabel is actually her biological mother, who had tried to abort her and kept her out of resentment. Devastated, Omar walks away, telling Mabel she will never call her 'mother.' Stefan uses his father’s connections to arrange a scholarship, giving Omar a new chance at education. Benjamin bids them farewell, grateful for Stefan’s family’s support. As Omar and Stefan drive away, Mabel chases the car, but it is too late—the abandonment is done, and Omar does not look back.
