A Christmas Getaway

Dara, a hairdresser in Lagos, dreams of becoming an influencer. A customer tells her that beauty and packaging can sell, so she asks her boss, Madam Cheta, for an advance and rents a serviced apartment for Christmas. At the gate she meets security guard Kabiro and Ekene, who has booked the same place. They clash, then agree to share and to pose as a couple: she will make Ekene's ex Shelly jealous and film content for her page. They drive around, take photos, and post them online. Shelly shows up, and Ekene admits his planned proposal was meant for her, and they kiss. Dara, hurt, tries to leave, but Ekene stops her, says he cares, and kisses her. Shelly reveals to Ekene's friend Bala that Dara is a hairdresser, so her lie comes out in front of everyone and Ekene is embarrassed. Dara returns to the salon, where Madam Cheta confronts her for using the advance to fund a fake lifestyle, demands the money, and fires her. With no job and a ruined reputation, Dara posts a tearful apology video about her struggles. Still thinking about Dara, Ekene follows a friend's push and goes to the salon, where a kind worker gives him her address. He drives to her home and tells her he came because she did not pick up her Christmas gift and he wants to start over. He says her job does not matter and he wants to begin the new year with her. Dara, moved, says the best Christmas gift is him, and they embrace and kiss.
