A Case For The Heart

Private investigator Lucy is suspended by her father Ayo for overworking. In 'A Case For The Heart', her aunt Temi sets her on a blind date with Nonso, a CFO who must marry by forty to inherit Phantom Limited. Lucy quickly notices that Nonso's assistant Uche provides wrong profiles, sabotaging his dates. Intrigued, Lucy investigates Uche despite being on leave. She uncovers that Uche works for Nonso's uncle, the current CEO, and is embezzling funds through altered documents. With colleague Bong, Lucy analyzes financial records and traces phone calls. She obtains voice recordings that implicate Uche and the uncle. But her sleuthing puts her in danger; she is followed and attacked. Her assailant holds a gun to her head, threatening her to drop the case, but she refuses. She sustains a bruise on her neck. Lucy presents her findings to Nonso, but he discovers her investigation files and feels betrayed, assuming she only dated him for the case. Nonso leaves, saying he cannot trust anyone. Heartbroken, Lucy decides to leave town for a vacation. Temi then reveals to Nonso that Lucy had a gun held to her head for him, proving her loyalty. Realizing his mistake, Nonso rushes to Lucy's home and stops her from leaving. He confesses his love and they reconcile with a kiss. Nonso confronts Uche and his uncle, leading to their arrest. At a board meeting, Nonso is appointed CEO of Phantom. Lucy returns to her work as a private investigator, and their relationship is strengthened. They share a quiet moment, looking forward to a future together.
