Eddie Watson Jnr

Eddie Samuel Obong Watson Jr., born May 22, 1980, in Monrovia, Liberia, is a Liberian-born Ghanaian actor and producer. Debuting in 2010 with *Labour of Love*, he entered Nollywood in 2011 via *Desperate Heart*. Known for *Somewhere in Africa*, *Ebola* (which he wrote, directed, produced; won GMA Best Short Film), and *She Prayed*. Nominated at NAFCA & BON; father to Emi (b. 2015).

EARLY LIFE

Eddie Samuel Obong Watson Jr. was born on May 22, 1980, in Monrovia, Liberia. He is the eldest of four siblings. His father is Eddie Watson Sr., a businessman, and his mother was Leonora Caulker, a nurse who passed away in 2021. He relocated from Liberia to Ghana in 2007.

CAREER

Watson's professional acting career began in 2010 with 'Labour of Love.' He also starred in the African war movie 'Somewhere in Africa' the same year. In 2011, he moved into Nollywood, starring alongside Queen Nwokoye in 'Desperate Heart.' His breakthrough came in 2014 with the short film 'Ebola,' which he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in, winning the Ghana Movie Award for Best Short Film. He has also produced 'Jack & Jill' and 'She Prayed.' Watson founded Emirror Films and launched the Eddie Watson TV YouTube channel in 2025 for direct distribution of content.

PERSONAL LIFE

Eddie Watson secretly married Ghanaian television actress Naomi Woode, also known as Naomi Baaba Watson, in October 2013. They have one child, a daughter named Emirror Kelsey Watson, born on February 2, 2015. His mother, Leonora Caulker, passed away on May 27, 2021.
