Biography

EARLY LIFE

Uche Agbo was born in Nigeria. His early life was marked by humble beginnings and a deep passion for the arts. He left home at around age ten to live in Obosi, Anambra State, where he faced economic hardships common to many Nigerian youths and took up menial jobs to support himself while nurturing his creative dreams.

CAREER

Uche Agbo is the CEO/MD of Okike Media, a multimedia and production company based in Lagos. He is also the founder and Executive Director of the Coal City Film Festival, founder and President of the Abuja Film Academy and Enugu Film Academy, and founder of Nollywood Insider (an online platform for authentic Nollywood news). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and a Master’s degree in Theatre and Film Studies from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, plus a certificate in directing from Del-York Creative Academy. Before rising to leadership in the industry, he served as National Secretary of the Directors’ Guild of Nigeria and is now its National Vice President. He is also a member of the Screenwriters Guild of Nigeria (SWGN) and Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
