Barbara Johnson

The film opens with a brazen nighttime carjacking and shooting that establishes a wave of violent robberies terrorizing the city. By day Frank Denero cultivates a public image as a generous philanthropist who distributes money to orphans and widows while earning praise from his staff and the community. Police officer Jidenna faces an ultimatum from his superior to dismantle the robbery gang within twenty-four hours and leans on his colleague Morayo for support. Unbeknownst to the authorities Frank secretly leads the criminal syndicate they hunt and meets his lieutenants Drex Uche and Tumba to plan a 700-million-naira bank heist. Frank's double life begins to crumble after a domestic argument with his girlfriend Bina ends with him tumbling down a staircase leaving him paralyzed from nerve damage, and confined to a wheelchair he grows increasingly dependent on his live-in maid Barbara a qualified nurse who administers his medication. As Frank's frustration mounts Bina abandons him. The police investigation gains traction when Jidenna and Morayo discover that a known criminal Drax Lumba appears in the background of nearly all of Frank's publicity photos. The photos suggest a direct link between the philanthropist and the underworld. Simultaneously Frank's own crew grows suspicious when the bank heist proceeds without them sparking accusations of betrayal. A doctor examines Frank's medication and identifies it as a neuromuscular blocking agent revealing that his paralysis has been chemically induced. Frank confronts Barbara and learns she is Barbara Johnson the widow of a police officer and that she deliberately swapped his drugs to incapacitate him. She confesses that the 700-million-naira operation was a fabrication designed to lure Frank and his gang into a trap and she adds that she used a voice-modifying app to alert the police.
