Biography
EARLY LIFE
Akah Nnani was born on 31 January in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and hails from Imo State in southeastern Nigeria. He is one of three siblings. His father worked as an immigration officer and his mother as a businesswoman. The family later moved to Lagos, where he spent much of his formative years in Surulere. He attended Pampers Private School in Surulere for primary education and Topgrade Secondary School (also in Surulere), later completing his secondary education at Faith Academy in Ota, Ogun State. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Covenant University.
CAREER
Nnani entered the entertainment industry around 2014. He began as a co-host of Entertainment Splash on TVC Entertainment (2014–2015) and launched his YouTube vlog channel “Akah Bants” in September 2014, which became known for light-hearted celebrity commentary and comedy skits. He took the lead role of Sly in the Ndani TV web series One Chance (2015) and appeared as Efosa in EbonyLife’s On the Real (2016–2017). He hosted Shade Corner on Accelerate TV and later appeared in Jenifa’s Diary (Season 14) as Anthony (Jenifa’s PA). PERSONAL LIFE
Nnani got engaged to Claire Idera on 29 January 2019. They held their traditional engagement on 8 April 2019 and married on 12 April 2019. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Chizaram Gabrielle Eriife Amaris Nnani, in February 2021. He has spoken about marriage, faith, and family in interviews, describing himself as a husband, father, and person of faith. He comes from a Christian background and has referenced his parents’ involvement with the Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel).
