Marriage Interview

Genevieve, head of research at a company, is persuaded by her friend Carissa to swap places for a blind date Carissa has with a man named Clem, as Carissa is busy with her interest Tim. On the date, Clem is rude and condescending, berating Genevieve for being late, and the evening ends with both trading insults. Soon after, Genevieve discovers that Clem is the investor her company is courting. Her boss, Mr. Bassey, threatens to fire her unless she fixes the situation, despite her attempts to apologize. In "Marriage Interview," Clem proposes a solution: she will pretend to be his girlfriend for two months to satisfy his sister Amanda's pressure to marry, and in return he will sign the business deal, saving her job. Genevieve agrees reluctantly. As they spend time together, genuine affection develops between them, though both deny it. Amanda, wanting to force Clem into marriage, asks Genevieve to seduce him and become pregnant. Genevieve initially goes along with the plan, but during an intimate moment she breaks down and confesses everything. Clem, feeling deeply betrayed, throws her out of his house and then confronts Amanda angrily, expressing his disappointment. Heartbroken, Genevieve decides to leave town, writing Clem a farewell letter that reveals her true feelings and regret. After reading the letter, Clem realizes his love for her and rushes to her house just as she is about to depart. He confesses his love and asks her to stay. They reconcile, forgiving each other for the deceptions, and embrace with mutual declarations of love, ending on a hopeful note.
