Why Not Me

Nelo's desperate advances toward her neighbor Kenny only push him further away, so she turns to her aunt for a love spell, a solution she initially resists until she sees Kenny with another woman. In "Why Not Me," the aunt prepares a magical meal infused with enchanted herbs, instructing Nelo to feed it only to Kenny. Apologizing for her earlier behavior, Nelo offers the food to Kenny, but his friend Mario grabs a bite instead and immediately becomes infatuated with her, his eyes glazing over as he abandons his girlfriend Sarah at the table. Horrified, Nelo seeks her aunt's help to reverse the spell, only to learn that breaking it under a full moon carries a heavy price: she would lose her ability to love or be loved forever. As Mario's obsession intensifies—he follows Nelo around town, sends her gifts, and ignores Sarah's pleas—Kenny confronts Nelo about her actions, having pieced together the strange sequence of events. Sarah demands the spell be broken immediately, but Kenny argues for patience until the next full moon on the 16th, hoping for a safer reversal. On the appointed night, the aunt performs a ritual under the moonlight, preparing a bitter potion that Mario drinks. He collapses into a fitful sleep, then wakes with a start, finally recognizing Sarah and apologizing. The spell is lifted, and Mario returns to normal, much to Sarah's relief. Nelo sincerely apologizes to Kenny, acknowledging her mistakes and vowing to work on herself with a therapist. Kenny, though forgiving, needs space and decides to move out, wishing her well. The film ends with Nelo standing alone in her dimly lit apartment, reflecting on her choices as Kenny's car drives away, leaving her to face the consequences of her actions.
