When A Woman Loves
Sarah gives everything for John—her father's land, her peace, her very safety. But "When A Woman Loves", she becomes blind to the serpent coiled at her feet. John finishes law school, lands a prestigious job, and promptly discards her, claiming they were never married. He moves into staff quarters, dates a wealthy lawyer named Olive, and threatens to expose Sarah's nude photos if she resists. Working as a housekeeper after saving a man named Damian from poison, Sarah finds new hope until John sends the photos and Damian turns away, leaving her alone to face the venom of a man she once trusted.

Storyline
Sarah sold her father's land—soil that held his sweat and her ancestors' bones—to put eight hundred thousand naira in John's palms. Her mother's warnings withered like harmattan leaves. She hawked her shoes, her bag, even listened when a friend spoke of dark rites, all to fill the man's school fees. John drank her sacrifices and asked for more. When his law degree hung on the wall and a prestigious firm opened its doors, he left their shared bed with a cruel word: no ring, no duty. He only returned to thrust old photographs at her, threats wrapped in memory, demanding her silence. She found work as a housekeeper in Damian's home after snatching a poisoned cup from his lips. There, over steaming pots and an old woman's stories, respect grew like yam tendrils. Damian saw her worth. But John's poison traveled—he mailed the photographs, and Damian's trust broke open. He turned away. Then the grandmother fell sick, her breath rattling like dry seeds. She refused all medicine unless Sarah came back. Damian begged on his knees. Such blindness is the heavy lesson in "When A Woman Loves"—the way a good heart can be tethered to a man who has become a storm. John, still hollow with greed, schemed with another woman to trap Damian with a false belly and a lie. But Sarah's ears caught the conspiracy, and she chose to stand in the light. Damian faced John, with Olivia and Sarah as witnesses, and the mask crumbled—there was only a man made of teeth and betrayal. Chased out like a thief, he vanished into the dust. The grandmother healed under Sarah's hands. Damian came with an apology that bowed his proud neck, then lifted his voice to his people: this woman would be his wife. Palm wine flowed. Sarah, who once sold land for a love that bled her dry, now stood on ground that no one could sell. The soles of her feet finally rested on something sure, and the sky held no more shadows.
