What Love Means To A Man And A Woman

Diamond lives in Lagos with her mother Rachel, eagerly awaiting the visits of her father Peter, who works abroad and returns every three months. When Peter arrives for a planned road trip to Ibadan, Rachel is distant and confronts him about his double life, demanding he choose between her and his wife Diane. What Love Means To A Man And A Woman then follows the family—Peter, Rachel, Diamond, and little Junior—on the road, where a violent accident kills Rachel and Junior, leaves Diamond injured, and Peter critically comatose. Diane, called to the hospital, discovers Peter's secret family and is devastated. Peter dies without regaining consciousness, and Diamond becomes Diane's unwanted ward. Diane brings Diamond into her home but treats her cruelly, forcing her to do menial chores and threatening to send her to an orphanage. Charity, Diane's friend, pleads for compassion.
