Trick In Love

Ada, a homeless pregnant woman, sits at a construction site in despair, and a man later revealed to be the spirit of her late husband Bassey urges her to breathe and have faith. In Trick In Love, Sheyi, a wealthy man whose father has threatened to cut off his inheritance if he is not married by his 60th birthday, catches Ada sleeping on his property. His girlfriend Telma suggests hiring a fake fiancée, so Sheyi offers Ada food and shelter to pose as one. Sheyi's friend Mike trains Ada to answer personal questions about her favorite food, color, and their fictional meeting, and Ada reveals that her baby is Bassey's and that Bassey died in a fire. Sheyi takes Ada to meet his parents, where Chief, though skeptical, is impressed by Ada's story of the fire and Sheyi's all-night drive to propose. Chief insists they marry within two months and move in together. After moving in together, Ada and Sheyi bond over shared meals, cooking, photography, and a Scrabble game. Sheyi buys Ada a chef's shirt and invests in her dream of opening a restaurant, and he breaks up with Telma. Ada discovers a message from Telma and feels betrayed. At a family meeting, Telma arrives and exposes the entire arrangement to Chief. Ada admits she was paid two million naira, and Chief disowns Sheyi and orders both women to leave. Sheyi declares he is madly in love with Ada, but she leaves heartbroken. Later, Sheyi learns his father is terminally ill, so he visits Chief, apologizes for the lies, and confesses that Ada is the woman he wants to marry and that he intends to adopt her baby. Chief forgives Sheyi and gives his blessing on the condition that Sheyi takes charge of the company and his cousin handles daily operations. Sheyi and Ada reconcile, and Ada gives birth to a baby girl. Sheyi proposes to Ada in the hospital with a ring, and she tearfully accepts.
