Something Borrowed

Follow Uche, a broke young man in busy Lagos, as he deals with shame and hard times. The film Something Borrowed starts with him bumping into rich Zoey in the market. She insults him badly, calling him poor and ugly. A crazy guy laughs at him too. Uche's girlfriend Linda supports him but gets tired of his jealousy. He thinks she's cheating with a rich chief because she has nice things. His sister begs for school fees, but Uche has no money after losing his job. Things get worse when he sees old classmate Gerald, now in fancy car and clothes. Gerald was dumb in school, but Uche was smart. Gerald offers small money and bad job, but Uche says no in anger. Then, doctor says mom needs big surgery for 10-15 million Naira. Uche has nothing. Linda leaves him, packing her bags. Desperate, Uche asks Gerald his wealth secret. Gerald takes him to scary shrine called The Dark Circle. There, Wise One gives rules for riches: never sleep with same woman twice, never help family with money, and sacrifice a baby each month. Uche agrees, gets magic skull. Suddenly, Uche is billionaire with mansion and Range Rover. But mom and sister come begging at gate. He watches from balcony, drinks fancy wine, but follows rules and gives nothing. They curse him and leave sad. Uche meets Zoey again. Now she's nice because he's rich. They were schoolmates, and he says he always loved her but felt too poor. They date, he proposes with huge ring, she says yes. But in bedroom, rules stop him from being close. He can't love her fully or sleep twice. He pushes her away, confused and alone. Trapped in wealth, he can't save mom or build life with Zoey. The movie shows how greed and rituals destroy everything.
