In Just Buried, a village where qualifications mean nothing against poverty, Alabi and his mother, Mama Alabi, turn to a native doctor after a friend suggests dark rituals might alter their fate. Their visit to the herbalist demands a sacrifice, leading Alabi to promise his secret girlfriend Ijeoma a job opportunity, only to lure her to an abandoned construction site where his mother waits. There, Alabi takes Ijeoma’s life, collecting her blood for a ritual meant to cleanse their bad luck. Meanwhile, in the city, therapist Prisca grows increasingly worried about her boyfriend Jerry, whose distant behavior and terrifying nightmares—visions of a woman named Ijeoma—push their relationship to the brink. The ghost’s urgent whispers compel Jerry to find a man named Alabi and expose the truth, setting a collision course between their worlds. As the spirit intensifies her demands, Jerry’s search leads him to Alabi during a therapy session where Prisca treats Mama Alabi, but the confrontation only tightens the net of denial. Desperate, Alabi and his mother return to the herbalist, who reveals that only a sacrifice from among themselves can appease the restless ghost and the celestial beings backing her within seven days. In a final ethereal vision, Alabi and Ijeoma, both robed in white, meet in a dark space where he offers his hand and she accepts, walking together into the distance—a silent closure that ties loss to an uneasy forgiveness.
