EARLY LIFE
Faithia Williams Balogun (née Faithia Akorede Adunni Williams) is Urhobo from Ukwara town in Waterside Local Government Area, Delta State, in the south-south region of Nigeria. She was born in Ikeja, the Lagos state capital, on 5 February 1969, into a polygamous family of nine children. She attended Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School in Lagos State, where she obtained her West African School Certificate. After that, she studied at Kwara State Polytechnic for a diploma certificate. In 2016, she gained admission into Olabisi Onabanjo University to study Filming.
PERSONAL LIFE
Faithia was formerly married to veteran Nigerian actor Saheed Balogun (also known as Saidi Balogun), with whom she shares two children: a son named Khalid Balogun and a daughter named Aaliya Balogun. She also has a son from an earlier relationship, making a total of three children. The couple divorced, but she retained the surname Balogun professionally. It was during this period of marriage that she changed her name from Faith Williams to Faithia Balogun. She resides in Lagos, Nigeria.

Faithia Williams Balogun is a renowned Nigerian actress, filmmaker, producer, and director, primarily known for her work in Yoruba-language Nollywood films. Her acting journey began unexpectedly when her uncle, Alhaji Fatai Teniola, asked her to stand in for an absent actress on a movie set. Williams played her first role in the film "Ta lo pa chief". She has appeared in, produced, and directed numerous films over the years, often focusing on themes relevant to Nigerian audiences. Notable credits include Igi owo (2007) as Tomilola, Wasila Coded Reloaded (2022) as Stella's Mother, Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons (2018) as Iya Abdul, and 10 Days in Sun City (2017). In 2008, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for the Most Outstanding Actress Indigenous and her movie Iranse Aje won the best indigenous film of the year. In April 2014, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award, having emerged as best actress of the year along with Odunlade Adekola. She also won the Best Indigenous Language award for the work done in the film "Iya Alalake" at the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
