Storyline

In The Price, Promise has raised Prosper since their parents died, and he pushes his younger brother to sleep with a female boss for a promotion Prosper does not want. Prosper lands the job anyway, a role paying four hundred fifty thousand monthly with a three hundred thousand advance. On his first day he meets Deola, a woman who has spent fifteen years mourning her twin brother Deji, killed in a hit-and-run on Bankole Street on Independence Day. The brothers share a laugh fixing Prosper's broken car with a rock before he starts work, but the mood shifts when Prosper brings an intoxicated Deola home and Promise sees her face. Promise warns Prosper to stay away from her, citing a dark aura that will bring ruin, and Prosper dismisses the warning as superstition. Prosper visits Deola at her home and tells her he was the driver who struck Deji and fled, a lie he has carried to protect Promise. Deola collapses in grief and rage, realizing the man she trusted is the one who destroyed her family. Promise then confesses to Prosper that he was the real driver, rushing to the hospital after their parents' accident when he hit the boy and abandoned him out of fear of mob justice. Prosper is shattered by the double betrayal, and Deola retaliates by firing Prosper's friend and colleague, signaling she will destroy everyone connected to the driver. Prosper finds Deola at her gate and pleads for her to spare Promise and direct all vengeance at him alone. Deola mocks him and orders him away, but days later she appears at Prosper's home where he sits jobless and despondent after her retaliation. She asks if he still wants the position, calling him by his full name Prosper Anayo Eze, and the shift from vengeance to reconciliation is clear. Prosper accepts and they leave for work together while Promise remains behind, celebrating his brother's redemption. The film ends with Deola in her bedroom speaking affirmations to herself, embracing healing and forgiveness.
