The story follows Star, who is recruited by an international non-profit to create a promotional campaign. Her work leads to the catchy but culturally misunderstood slogan, “One woman, one bra.” What begins as a simple campaign quickly turns into a major problem when the slogan is misunderstood by Star’s community. As the situation spirals out of control, Star finds herself rejected by the very people she hoped to help.

Storyline

One Woman One Bra centers on Star, a fierce, independent 38-year-old unmarried woman living in the rural Maasai village of Sayit, Kenya. Star makes a living by riding her motorbike across the countryside to barter and ferry goods. Her world is upended when the local government prepares to distribute legal land title deeds to the villagers for the first time in centuries. Because these deeds are strictly allocated based on patriarchal kinship ties and lineage, Star—an orphan with unknown parentage—faces losing her ancestral home. Desperate to maintain her claim, she embarks on a race against time, matching wits with hostile neighbors, considering a marriage proposal of convenience, and getting entangled with a Western NGO that exploits her image for a "white savior" charity campaign.
