After Pam learns that her fellow prostitute Cindy has been found dead and gang-raped, she grieves and warns her friend Olanma about the dangers of their life. Soon after, Stan and his boss Preye interview a sex worker who recommends Olanma as a willing participant in their project to help women leave the streets. Preye approaches Olanma in a supermarket, offering to buy her sanitary pads under the pretense of helping his sister, then picks her up for what he calls a church vigil but instead takes her to a hotel. There he pays her simply to talk, insisting he only wants friendship. Olanma opens up about being rusticated from school after reporting a lecturer for harassment, which forced her into prostitution, and admits she craves genuine love and financial security. Preye continues to meet Olanma, paying her for conversations and enrolling her in a fashion design course, and Olanma begins to trust him despite her friend's caution. Meanwhile, Preye's fiancée Kiki grows suspicious of his frequent absences; he explains he is helping Olanma through a humanitarian project, and Kiki initially approves. However, Kiki later discovers Preye and Olanma kissing and exposes the truth: Preye is engaged, and his project involves interviewing prostitutes to understand their plight and help them leave the streets.
