Agunnaya, a rich and prideful man, rages at a maid for breaking a decorative plate one morning in his wealthy home. His wife Ugochi steps in to calm him, knowing he suffers from high blood pressure. In Mr Cash And Pride, Agunnaya next insults his childhood friend Ohaneze over an unpaid loan while driving, telling Ugochi that money guarantees loyalty. His financial advisor Amos raises deep concerns about a new investment that will drain nearly all the company's assets. Both Amos and Ugochi beg Agunnaya to slow down, but he refuses, certain that money answers to him. Weeks later, a regulatory body called DTCC freezes their accounts and seizes their properties, exposing the deal as a money laundering scheme. Ugochi and Agunnaya are forced into a run-down compound, where the caretaker Sunday greets them with respect and his aggressive wife Itoro greets them with hostility. Itoro cuts off their water supply and demands fees for compound repairs, and she makes it her mission to harass the couple. Sunday tries to keep the peace between his wife's revenge tactics and his duty to his tenants. Ugochi sells her jewelry to cover the rent and the bribes. Agunnaya's pride is bruised daily by the lack of amenities and the petty fights with neighbors, and the marriage grows tense. Ugochi quietly begins investigating the collapsed deal, and Sunday helps by recalling strange phone calls he overheard and Amos acting frantic over dropped documents. When Amos refuses Ugochi's calls out of fear, Sunday tracks him down and brings him back to the compound. Amos deflects at first but admits a shell company was involved, and Ugochi finds background checks that name Ohaneze as the mastermind. Agunnaya suffers another medical episode from the shock. After weeks of reflection, he calls Sunday and Itoro to sit with him, crying as he apologizes for his cruelty and admits he was a terrible boss. Sunday and Itoro forgive him.
