Mizani
Created and produced by visionary coastal filmmaker Daudi Anguka under his AR Film Productions banner, Mizani serves as a thematic expansion of his award-winning 2023 film Mvera. Mizani focuses on the agonizing moral compromises everyday citizens make when pitted against a corrupt elite. As Suleiman evades both crooked authorities and syndicate hitmen, the narrative systematically strips away the "polished smiles" of regional leadership. It reveals that the organ trafficking syndicate is orchestrating its black-market deals from the highest echelons of society, specifically involving the local Governor Philip and his family.
Storyline
When Amira, the young daughter of a relentless coastal print-media journalist named Suleiman, is suddenly abducted, his world completely shatters. His desperate quest to rescue her pulls him directly into the line of fire against a ruthless, highly organized organ trafficking ring operating out of Mombasa. To save his daughter, Suleiman must expose a dangerous syndicate that thrives in the dark—forcing him to choose between the safety of his family and uncovering a web of political corruption, systemic power plays, and shocking family secrets.
