Storyline
Ben and Lucy's marriage flourishes until Lucy shares the news of her pregnancy, a moment that fills their home with hope. Yet within weeks, that joy twists into confusion as Lucy's personality shifts dramatically, her once gentle demeanor replaced by sudden rages that shatter their peace. From a 4 AM outburst over nothing to a public scene at a market stall, every interaction becomes a battleground, leaving Ben bewildered and hurt. A visit to the doctor reveals stress-induced hypertension threatening the pregnancy, but even this warning fails to calm the storms erupting daily. In "Mad Wife," the couple's struggle with these bewildering changes exposes the fragile line between devotion and despair. Desperate to salvage their bond, Ben agrees to a romantic trip to Abuja, yet the journey only fuels fresh conflicts, with arguments over luggage igniting another fight. Realizing he can no longer endure, Ben walks out and stays with a friend, even discussing divorce as Lucy's calls go unanswered. When labor strikes, Lucy reaches out in panic, but Ben ignores the pleas until he finally returns home to find her collapsed. Rushing her to the hospital, he watches as she delivers a baby girl, the doctor stressing that a calm environment is now critical for her recovery. Following the birth, Lucy's moods stabilize, and she offers a heartfelt apology, acknowledging the toll her behavior took on their marriage. With the baby's arrival, a gentle calm settles over the household, allowing Ben to see the woman he fell in love with once more. Their reconciliation blossoms in quiet moments, Lucy assuring Ben of her unwavering love, and the film closes on their restored harmony, a family finally at peace.
